Paul Blair is a great landlord! He was always easy to get a hold of and quick to get back to me. The lady in the basement apartment blew a fuse and came up to use my phone to call him and he was there to fix it within the hour. He’s straight forward but friendly. The apartment itself was pretty cute. The paint was all nice. There was green carpet in the living room and the stairs, I kind of liked it but he was thinking of ripping it up when I moved in (2012). I moved out because I had a summer job in another province and didn’t want to try subletting for the summer. One bedroom is massive and the other is more of a den. The smaller had no closet but my roommate used the large closet in the living room to store extra things. The bathroom is really big. There’s LOADS of natural sunlight and a nice sized wooden balcony off of the living room. I don’t remember if the heat was oil or electric but it was included, all I paid was lights. There’s no laundry which really sucks but Bluenose is about a 5 minute walk away (drop off service, wifi, and coffee shop next door). I rarely heard the downstairs folks, a little noise travels through the vent in the living room but you’d never hear it unless it was silent upstairs. I believe rent was $925 a month, which I think was fair.
