An older building in a quiet, beautiful residential neighborhood. The location was the reason we took the place – lots of children, a tiny grassy area just across the street, close to a large park, and just off Chebucto Rd.; walking distance to all amenities and bus routes. The building has 6 units, with a parking lot in the back. Pros: Quiet tenants, real hardwood floors, bright, big storage room in unit, dishwasher, newer deck in back, relatively cheap ($850-900/month with heat and parking included). Cons: parking lot is tight, landlord is extremely difficult to reach and can be a bit of a bully (never wants to return a damage deposit and only returns it after many calls and without accrued interest) and is reluctant to make any repairs (our unit and another one in the building had a broken window for our entire time there – he lied and said new windows had been ordered when we agreed to move in), the dumpster is very close to the building and can stink terribly in the summer, laundry is coin-op (which is common, but unfortunate), kitchens aren’t big enough for a table and we had to eat in the living room.
